In the pursuit of excellence, Paper House has recently acquired the Xerox Versant 180 from Xtec.

The Versant 180 is a production machine which very few machines can compete with, ensuring Paper House gains a competition-busting quality advantage and the ability to create high-value applications.

Alex Couper of Xtec explains the Versant 180 is one of the longest production machines in the area. The closest city sporting a machine of its calibre being in Pietermaritzburg.

“The capabilities of the Versant 180 are vast, being able to cover different types of stock and media,” says Alex.

The Versant 180 is a powerful machine, production press printing at 80 pages per minute, Furthermore, it has a wide media latitude with the ability to print on stickers and speciality media from 52 to 350 grams per square meter (gsm).

Its features do not end there. The high-performance press features combine with the convenience and walk-up simplicity of scanning and copying.

The feeding and inline finishing versatility creates opportunities for the higher-margin, higher-profit applications which will give Paper House an edge which many of its competitors won’t be able to offer. This magnificent machine can print everything from envelopes, banners to full bleed booklets.

The Versant 180 achieves an entirely new standard of image quality, delivering four times more pixels than other presses. All the while, printing at exceptionally fast speeds.

With a winning combination of technologies, which includes the Xerox EA toner, 2400 x 2400 dpi with a 10-bit RIP and an advanced Compact Belt Fuser, the Versant 180 provides just the right amount of consistent heat and pressure for a given stock.

With several other features, the Versant 180 is truly a machine of epic proportions. Couper says, the machine can do amazing things and is truly set to create a new era of printing.

This is an exciting and positive step for our branch, and establishing Xtec as a brand,” he says.

Sashie Goli of Paper House says the Versant 180 performs exceptionally well, ensuring Paper House remains in touch with the digital world. Thereby, allowing the business to provide a better and faster service.

Setting her sights on the future, Sashie says she has plans for the Versant 180. While not elaborating, she laughs, “I will be using it for digital printing.”
