This amazing free phenomenon is known to have mystical and positive power over our lives, yet by today’s standards, we go out of our way to avoid it for some strange reason.
Laughter saves lives, inspires genius, yet we chase everything in this life but it, why?
According to HELPGUIDE.ORG:
“Laughter is a powerful antidote to stress, pain, and conflict. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert. It also helps you to release anger and be more forgiving.”
Then why in an age fulled with choice and access to great comedy and uplifting content, do we tend to lean more towards, mind numbing reality shows or negative media?
Well according to an experiment which BBC.com wrote about:
“Participants often chose stories with a negative tone – corruption, set-backs, hypocrisy and so on – rather than neutral or positive stories. People who were more interested in current affairs and politics were particularly likely to choose the bad news.
And yet when asked, these people said they preferred good news. On average, they said that the media was too focused on negative stories.”
We as people have become far to caught up in a world, which to be honest is not ours, to the degrees, in which we think it is. We have about as much control over politicians, negative press and evil doers, as a pigeon’s control of a room full of hungry cats.
Yes, we have power and yes we must stand our ground.
But there is a time to hang up ones gloves and learn to just live again. Free of political or racial opinion, free of economical or global negativity, just having a good day, going about our life.
Or have we just become products of other peoples agendas?!
Surely this is not a stretch? Surely we can scroll past the negative posts on our timelines, or ignore the pessimistic people around us, I mean it is only your sanity, happiness and overall quality of life we are talking about!
Do something that makes you laugh, I mean laugh to the point of not breathing, laugh until you cry, but most importantly, laugh to be human again.
Go have a laugh:
