For the fitness enthusiasts seeking the ideal way to beat the winter blues, be sure to put on your running shoes. Whether you choose to run, jog or walk, the Park Run is the ideal way to start the morning.
The park run is free for all to enjoy. However, people are urged to register before participating and printing a copy of the supplied barcode.
Mandela Day Food Drive
Newcastle Lions Club, in conjunction with Pick n Pay and Food Forward SA, will be collecting food items outside Hutten Heights Pick n Pay.
The Lions will be stationed outside the store from 9am until 7pm. Be sure to support the initiative and help feed the less fortunate for this Mandela Day.
Bok van Blerk to perform in Wakkerstroom
Popular South African singer, Bok van Blerk is set to perform in Wakkerstroom. He will be performing at the Wakkerstroom Hotel from 7pm.
Tickets are available at R100 per person and can be purchased at the entrance.

Chinese Chamber to host Winter Relief
The Newcastle Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be hosting its annual Winter Relief initiative. The chamber will be travelling to Ingogo and assisting the less fortunate with donations to keep the winter chills at bay.
