In the quest for victory, St Dominics Newcastle’s 1st boys’ hockey team recently went on a four day tour.

From April 26 to April 30, the team played against various schools in KwaZulu Natal, vying for the win. The first match took place in Mooi River, when St Dominics Newcastle faced Treverton College on April 26. Both teams proved to be formidable forces, with the match ending in a zero-all draw.

On April 27, the St Dominics Newcastle team went up against Ashton International College in Ballito. The highly competitive match ended with a score of four-three in St Dominics favour. This match was followed by competing against Northwood College on Saturday, April 28. Despite the St Dominics team’s best efforts, they lost 2-1.

The last match was played against Grantleigh College. St Dominics dominated the match, winning 3-0.

Well done to the team and to Asande Mbatha who was nominated as player of the tour.
