The cold clutches of winter could not keep away avid racing enthusiasts from Newcastle Raceway Club’s monthly racing event.
On Saturday, July 7, the sound of roaring engines spurred on by spectators, ensured no one felt the icy grip of the chilly night.
In the Go-Kart division, Shakeela Ameer clinched first place, followed by Thabo-Jan Ntobokoane in second position. Raeesa Cassim sped into third place.
Willie Bezuidenhout flew into first place in the 1600 division, with Zaakira Khan taking second spot. Wilma Lindeque came into third spot.
In the 1660 division, Tiaan Buys secured first spot. Ruan Botha came in second, followed by Shaukat Khan in third place.
Faizel Cassim dominated the two-litre division by coming in first place. Dewald Botha took second place, with Gideon Hand in third spot.
Faizel Cassim continued his winning streak in the Hot Rods division, securing first place. He was followed by Ruan Botha and Dewald Botha in second and third place, respectively.
Henk van Rooyen took the win in the Tin Tops division, with Jp Bruin in second place and Wilma Lindeque in third spot.
