Police seek community’s assistance after boy’s body found

Ingogo Police are looking at the community for assistance in a case which is currently under investigation.

On February 20, the body of an unknown African male was found alongside the R34, Utrecht Road next to the Iscor Bridge, Ingogo.

Newcastle SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Ncube explains the deceased is apprixiamtely 16-years-old and was discovered by a passer-by.

“The deceased was wearing a grey trouser, black and white t-shirt and black shoes,” says Captain Ncube. 

An Inquest case is now open for investigation at SAPS Ingogo.

In a separate incident, an intelligence driven operation was conducted by oSizweni Policing area with the assistance of the oSizweni Crime Prevention Unity.

Taking place on February 21, the two units descended on a house in Section B, oSizweni. At the house, a 36-year-old woman was taken into custody.

She is in police custody for allegedly dealing in dagga. When arrested, she was found with an estimate R1 800 worth of dagga.

She will appear in the Madadeni Magistrate Court for charges of dealing in dagga.

Police investigations are underway, however, the SAPS does need the community’s assistance in stamping out crime.
