Newcastle Raceway club to host the Regional Championships!

Come August 18, petrol heads are in for a day of high-octane, adrenaline fueled racing.

Newcastle Raceway Club is set to host the third and final leg in the Northern Regional Championships. Named the Autobarn Parts People Regional Championships, this is no ordinary racing event.

While Newcastillians rally together on a monthly basis to cheer on their favourite drivers at the Oval Track, the regional championships will see an array of great drivers from Nelspruit and Loskop speeding down to sunny old, Newcastle. Their goal? To out perform our amazing, local drivers in the quest for victory.

There will be an array of stalls for people to shop from, this includes food stalls, while spectators enjoy the different racing divisions which includes the 1600, 1660, two-litre and hotrod divisions.

With this highly anticipated event, set to awe the most avid speed enthusiast, the championship will bring about the end of the regional championships, with the overall winners being selected on the day.

The gates are set to open for the public from 11am. Spectators will have the opportunity to walk around and admire the monstrous racing machines.

The event will officially kick off with the National Anthem, followed by a parade of the cars. The racing will then follow at 3pm. Between 40 to 50 cars are expected to bring the Oval Track to life, so be sure to get there as early as possible, to ensure you get great seating.

Entrance fee is R60 per adult, R30 for children under 12 and R20 per car.

Following the event, racers from Newcastle Raceway Club will be setting their sights on the South African Championships. This will take place in Bloemfontein in October.
