Harourts Battlefields Marathon
March 2 – Newcastle Harriers Club will be hosting the annual Harcourts Battlefields Marathon. For sporting enthusiasts, this is one event not to be missed.
There is a 42.2km division, a 21.1km division and a 10km division. Each division will offer runners the opportunity to interact with each other, while taking them along the D96 to soak up the beauty which Newcastle has to offer.
The event will begin at 6am from Huttenpark Primary School and end at the primary school again.
Be sure to support the athletes participating in the tough marathon.
Amajuba Lekker Resies
March 2 – The Amajuba Lekker Resies is a fun-filled event catering for the entire family. The day will see an array of teams participating in exciting tasks, taking them around Newcastle.
Acting as a fund-raising initiative for Amajuba School, the event will bring a local touch to the Amazing Race to town.
The event will begin at Majuba Lodge from 10am.
For the community, there will be paintball, archery, exhibitions, artists, games for people to enjoy. For children, there is an obstacle course for local primary schools to compete in.
There will also be a wide selection of stalls, food stalls and the always very well supported beer tent, be sure to mark the date for an entertaining day.
Entrance fee for Newcastillians to come and enjoy the day at Majuba Lodge, is R20 per adult and R10 per child.

Newcastle Oval Track Racing
March 2 – Racing enthusiasts must not miss out on this Saturday’s Oval Track racing. Gates will open at 2pm and racing is set to start at 6pm.
Entrance fee is R50 per adult, R20 for children under 12 years of age and R10 per car. With high-octane racing and a variety of stalls, the event promises to be loads of fun.

Hack Attack Golf League
March 3 – The second half of the Hack Attack Golf League continues this Sunday at Newcastle Golf Club.
A truly unique golfing experience, the Hack Attack Golf League takes place once a month, alternating between Newcastle Golf Club, Kilbarchan Golf Club and Vulintaba Golf Club.
The league is open to all golfers who are keen to promote the gentlemanly sport of golf.
