ISKCON Newcastle to host Rath yatra Chariot Festival
April 6 – The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will be hosting the 18th annual Rath yatra Chariot Festival. The event will take place from 9.30am at the Newcastle Town Hall.
Promising to be a colourful procession with a rich cultural and spiritual significance, the community has much to look forward to.

April 6 – Racing enthusiasts have much to look forward to at the Oval Track this Saturday with the Goldwagen 1660 Challenge, with cash prizes up for grabs.
While racers will be vying for the win, this will be no ordinary event. The Newcastle Raceway Club will be racing for Autism Awareness, lighting it up blue for autism.
With the racing starting at 6pm, there will be a special parade at 5.30 pm. This special parade will involve autistic children from Esperanza Special Needs School.
There will also be a variety of stalls.
Be sure to attend the event, supporting both the racers and the quest in raising awareness about autism.

Raam Bhajana Prayer
April 6 – Mervyn Budhoo and family is inviting the community to their first Raam Bhajan Prayer.
The prayer will commence at 6.30pm at 8 St Dominic Street, before proceeding to the Newcastle Shree Siva Subramaniam Temple.
Maha Prasad (supper) will be served from 5.30pm.
The Bhajana Prayers will be conducted by Shree Hari Narayan Seva Bhajana
Hack Attack Social Golf League
April 7 – The third leg of the Hack Attack Social Golf League will be taking place at Vulintaba Country Estate.
The Hack Attack Golf League takes place once a month, which is usually the first Sunday of the month. Unlike many other leagues, the venue also changes every month between Newcastle Golf Club, Kilbarchan Golf Club and Vulintaba.
Each player pays a certain amount of money for each game. These monies will then go towards the funds for the winner of the day, while a certain percentage will go towards the club’s funds.
There will also be a membership fee, which will cover the players’ shirts and caps. Golfers don’t have to be an affiliated golf member to join the league or to play.
