Emadlangeni Municipality is taking a firm stance regarding stories revolving around the status of the advertised posts, which appeared on the Municipality’s social media posts and media publications.
Communications officer for the Municipality, Ayanda Mabaso, stresses, “The posts are not frozen and any report which suggests otherwise amounts to malicious rumours that should not be taken seriously. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply for these posts, as per the instructions on the advertisements.”
While contending with the rumours about posts being frozen, the Emadlangeni Municipality finds itself dealing with unscrupulous behaviour by con artists. Mabaso explains, “It has come to our attention that there are certain people who are going around, promising jobs in exchange for money or other forms of transactions. Such action is illegal and does not represent the Recruitment Policy of the Municipality.”
It is, herewith, that he emphasises, all recruitment processes are followed when selecting and recruiting candidates. “No jobs are offered in exchange for money. All shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews and appointment will be made on the basis of qualifying criteria,” he clarifies
The Municipality urges those who have any information regarding the illicit ‘sale of jobs’ or those who have paid an amount of money because they have been promised a job to report such incidents to SAPS or Human Resources Office. The identity of the complainant will be protected.
Mabaso concludes, “We still continue to advise the public that Emadlangeni Municipality jobs are not for sale.”
