Thanda Safari – that great 5-star private game reserve in KwaZulu-Natal which puts a great emphasis on conservation, community upliftment and is the perfect place for holidaymakers and families to experience and discover the Big Five and all the other creatures in the bush – is still moving in its new direction and has another ‘weekend with a difference’ planned for April.
Thanda Safari invites you to join Christian Sperka, Thanda’s resident photographer-of-note and the Wildlife Team to learn the ‘art’ of taking better, beautiful and brilliant photographs of the wildlife.
The Thanda Safari Wildlife & Photography Weekend will take place from Friday 23 – Sunday 25 April 2021.
“I’ll be around all weekend to help with camera setups, answer questions and – if requested – will ‘critique’ your pictures”, says Christian.
“Joining me in hosting is Vincent Hindson, Thanda Safari field guide and an expert photographer, there’ll be a ‘Best Photo Of The Weekend’ competition, and I and Thanda Safari’s Wildlife manager, Lorraine Doyle will be giving short talks about the supporting role of photography in wildlife conservation.”
Thanda Safari is home to a number of endangered species, including black and white rhino and cheetahs. Photographs taken of the endangered species during the weekend will be collected and analysed and will be used to assist the efforts of Thanda’s Wildlife Team to individually identify the various animals.
