In keeping with tradition, Drakensberg Primary School on Friday, 27 November 2020 hosted its annual bell-ringing ceremony. With proud and love-filled parents and teachers looking on, the event firstly signified the transition of the 2020 Grade 7 learners journey from primary school to that of high school. And secondly, the event noted the announcement of the 2021 head prefects.
With great elation Drakensburg Primary School, as of 2021, welcomes Lariska Nell who will be taking on the mantle as head girl—with JJ Fourie securing the position as head boy. Divan Nieuwoudt will take on the role of deputy head boy, while Karmia Potgieter will be next year’s deputy head girl. Initially, Royce Mazo was appointed as head boy, but unfortunately, he will be emigrating with his family.
Regardless of the challenges the year placed upon the Grade 7s, they achieved, and are now on their way to the last chapter of their school careers. We wish them and the new head prefects all good fortune and success in 2021.
