At just 17-years-old, Sharnê Dheochand is reaching for the stars. Her sights set on a career in the entertainment industry.

A bubbly personality and radiant beauty, Sharnê is no stranger when it comes to taking the centre stage. Her passion for modelling, drama and acting seeing her participate in various beauty pageants such as Zee TV Miss India NKZN, as she focuses on achieving her dreams.

On May 28, Sharnê has taken a step in realising her dream. In fact, she signed a contract with ABS Productions and will be a part of the kykNet project Speeltoneel.

She will also undergo training and so a course with Desire Gardner, the well-known South African actress who is known for her roles in series such as Binnelanders and Suidooster. The course will include a short film which will air on television in 2021.

How did this all happen?

Sharnê explains she saw a post on social media, promoting this once in a lifetime opportunity. As she is passionate about drama and acting, she jumped at the chance. A chance which paid off when she was able to sign the contract.

“It’s the best feeling in the world, as this has been a dream of mine ever since I was eight-years-old,” says Sharnê.

Looking at Speeltoneel, while she isn’t certain what her role will be, she is certain of one thing. “I will be fulfilling my passion, which is acting.”

While the dates are still to be confirmed, Sharnê says she is eager to start her training with Desire Gardner.

“It feels amazing, as she has been in this industry for some time and I am truly honoured to be coached by her.”

While thrilled to be trained by an experienced actress, one of the biggest highlights of the experience is the short film in which Sharnê will be appearing.

“I am ecstatic about it, as this has always been my passion and dream. To be on television and acting,” Sharnê smiles.

Throughout the entire journey, Sharnê says she is looking forward to meet and work with the actors. This, she says, will be an experience of a lifetime.

“And who knows what opportunities may lie ahead?” Sharnê enthuses.

After completing her high school career, Sharnê says she will definitely be furthering her career in the entertainment industry. Fulfilling her dreams and destiny.

Well done Sharnê!
