KZN police on the search for gang who stole eight state-owned vehicles

Police in KwaZulu-Natal is offering R50 000 in reward money for any information, which can help them locate a gang of men responsible for stealing eight state-owned vehicles.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele explains the incident took place on February 10, at approximately 9.30pm.

According to Colonel Mbele, the eight men entered the Ndwedwe Department of Agriculture’s offices, where two security guards were on duty.

“They threatened the security guards and held them in an office. They then gained entry into an administration office and obtained the keys for the vehicles which were locked in a safe,” says Colonel Mbele.

Eight state vehicles, all of which are bakkies and white in colour, were then taken from the premises.

With a search now underway, KZN police are encouraging people to look out for the following vehicles:

  • Nissan Hardbody – KZN 36608
  • Toyota Hilux – KZN 37111
  • Toyota Hilux – KZN 37123
  • Isuzu Single Cab – KZN 36900
  • Toyota Hilux KZN – 37157
  • Ford Ranger KZN – 37481
  • Nissan Hardbody – KZN 37349
  • Nissan Hardbody – KZN 37442
