Drug dealers lurk with the shadows of society, fuelling addiction as they seek to make a profit.

However, their actions are not being tolerated by local law enforcement. This follows an intelligence-driven operation by the Osizweni Policing Area and the Osizweni Crime Prevention Unit.

Following up on information, the officers raided a house at Inverness Farm on February 7. After a thorough search, the officers found a staggering 40 parcels of heroin hidden in the house.

With the offender in custody, the police continued with their operation. Following up on more information, the officers raided a home in Section A, Osizweni. At the house, the officers recovered a black bag full of dagga.

However, despite apprehending two alleged drug dealers, the intelligence-operation proved to be far from over.

Receiving further information, the team of officers returned to Inverness Farm on February 8. At a house, the officers recovered a further 40 parcels of heroin.

Newcastle SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Ncube says the drugs have an estimated street value of R20 000.

All three suspects are now in police custody, appearing in the Madadeni Magistrate Court on Monday, February 10. Further police investigations are underway.

Well done to the officers involved in the arrests.
