With the new year in full swing, the Osizweni SAPS is determined to clamp down on crime and bring perpetrators to book.
During a recent intelligence-driven operation, the Osizweni Policing Area with the assistance of the Osizweni Crime Prevention Unit and Osizweni Detectives, followed up on information regarding drugs and stolen goods.
Kickstarting the intelligence-driven operation on Friday, January 10, the officers proceeded to a house in Manza, Osizweni. At the house, a laptop which is believed to have been stolen was recovered.
Continuing the operation on Saturday, January 11, the officers searched a home in Section A, Osizweni. At the house, the officered recovered six bags of heroin.
From there, the officers rushed to a house in Blaauwbosch and recovered another laptop which is suspected to be stolen. Another house in Blaauwbosch was stolen and eight full mandrax tablets, 4 halves of mandrax tablets, three quarter mandrax tablets and a further eight small parcels of whoonga were recovered.
A third house in Blaaubosch was searched and a staggering 50 full mandrax tablets were recovered.
Following up on further information, a fourth house in Blaauwbosch was searched on Sunday, January 12, and a further 14 mandrax tablets were found.
With two suspected stolen laptops and drugs to the estimate value of R12 000 confiscated, seeing six suspects in total arrested, the SAPS considers the operation a resounding success.
