The South African Police Services (SAPS) are hellbent on eradicating criminals from within the community. Ensuring the ends of justice prevails.
Two intelligence-driven operations were recently held, with local police officers targeting suspects involved in stock theft and drugs.
In the first incident, six dairy cows were stolen from Vaalspruit in Utrecht. Following up on information, Warrant Officer VG Zulu and Warrant Officer SX Chagwe discovered the cows were driven across the Buffalo (Umzinyathi) River into Madadeni.
Beefing up the operation, the two officers secured the assistance of Lieutenant Colonel Khanyile, Captain Msimang and Captain Khumalo, Lieutenant Colonel Marx, as well as task team members of the Utrecht Stock Theft Unit members and four members of the Stock Theft Project Team.
Finding the cows at the back of a house in Section 4, Madadeni, the police officers arrested five suspects that are allegedly behind the crime.
Further police investigations into the matter continue.
In a separate incident, the Osizweni Police conducted an intelligence-driven on November 28.
With the assistance of Osizweni Crime Prevention, Osizweni police officers arrested two men in the Dry Cut Area, Osizweni.
During the arrest, the officers recovered a substantial amount of mandrax, with an estimated street value of R3 500. The two suspects will now face charges of drug possession and will appear at the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court.
