The Matric Class of 2019 is setting its sights on their final stretch of high school. Their final examinations for their National Senior Certificates currently underway.

As the Grade 12 learners take on the daunting task of embarking on a month-long journey of studiously studying and writing examinations, many find themselves also reflecting on their 12-year-journey through school.

Throughout the years, friendships have been forged and memories made. There is a hope that these memories and friendships will not end here, but will continue after school.

With the examinations officially beginning today, October 23, and ending on November 28, learners find themselves under the spotlight, their families, friends and communities rallying up to support them during this final few weeks of high school.

Newcastle Mayor, Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba extends a heartfelt message to the matriculants of 2019.

“We are assertive that the Grade 12 Class of 2019 will once again put Newcastle and the Amajuba District on top,” emphasises Cllr Mahlaba.

Furthermore, he adds, “The long journey of hard work is about to go into the grinding valley of the exams. But this should not lessen your morale. Prepare your mind for victory, keep your mind fresh, consider the exam a game, play the game like a hero and win it.  Once again, the best of wishes to you all.”
