Banking on Newcastle’s future, ABSA strives to play an active role within the community. At times, leaving the confines of the office to reach out to those in need.

On Friday, October 11, ABSA held its Charity Golf Day at Newcastle Golf Club. An event which draws golfing enthusiasts to the fairway for a greater cause.

Area manager for ABSA, Otto Lessing explains that the charity golf day was targeted at raising funds for Morester Children’s Home.

“The charity golf day forms part of our community involvement, contributing to the town and its people,” he emphasises.

While the golf day allowed the financial institution to ensure the children of Morester Children’s Home benefitted from the generosity of local golfers and the bank, it also allowed the bank to interact with the community, making itself visible within the marketplace.

Under ideal weather conditions, 60 golfers took to the fairways at Newcastle Golf Club, enjoying a day away from the office, while setting their sights on raising much-needed funds for the children’s home.

Well done to ABSA and local golfers for banking on the future of those children who live at Morester Children’s Home.
