At just 16-years-old, Paula van Zyl is making waves in the sports world. Dominating national waters in the pursuit of greatness.
Recently, Paula was nominated as one of three finalists for the KZN Sports Personality of the Year with a disability. An accolade which resonates her passion for swimming and acknowledges the time and effort she puts into swimming.
The KZN Sports Personality of the Year forms part of the KZN Sports Awards, where sportspersons are honoured as individuals or team athletes, coaches, administrators and volunteers.
Their outstanding contribution to sports in both KZN and the country recognised.
Set to take place on October 12, the KZN Sport Awards is a major highlight on the sporting calendar, attracting scores of achievers, provincial and national sports federations, government, private sector, coaches and officials.
As a significant milestone, Paula is bubbling with delight about the nomination.
“It is an honour to have been nominated and I am very excited and happy. If I do win, it will motivate me further in swimming,” Paula enthuses.
This award ties in nicely with Paula’s other accolades, which includes participating in the South African Nationals, swimming in Spain and participating in the Kenyan Open and Para Swimming Championships.
