A misty morning welcomed 63 golfers at Kilbarchan Golf Club on Saturday, July 13. Despite the cool winter morning and the mist, these golfers were on a mission.

Teeing-off for the Newcastle Hockey Club’s Annual Golf Day. An initiative to raise funds for the hockey club, so it can assist players to attend tournaments while helping with the club’s running costs.

With the mist falling back and weather conditions becoming ideal for a day of golf, the participants found the event an ideal way to support the local sports club.

While the aim of the day was to help the hockey club raise funds, a competitive atmosphere prevailed with golfers competing for the win.

Manie Mostert and Sarel Nienaber clinched the win on the day, securing first place for themselves. Following in second place is Frik and Mariet Matthee, with Japie Schoeman and Sias Weyers in the third position.
