Freaky Friday: Unusual images found on Google Maps

Google Maps is one of the greatest technological inventions ever. Especially if you have absolutely no sense of direction.

Gone are the days where you must try and navigate through unknown streets blindly or try and decipher an old paper-based map book. Furthermore, you can use the Street View option on Google Maps and explore the world without ever leaving the comfort of your home.

While Google Maps allows us to navigate our way through the world and our neighbourhood, its staff have captured and uploaded some rather unusual sights. Here is our selection of some of the most unusual images found on Google Maps.

This image is a tad unsettling but rather amusing at the same time. Just one question, who carries Pigeon masks around for situations such as this?

Google Maps captured this image in Wallingford, Connecticut, where a man is preparing to shoot a can off another man’s head.

I have so many questions. The main one being, did he actually hit the can or did they spend the remainder of the day in the casualty ward?

A glitch in the Google Maps Camera in Poland has left this rather unusual image for people to admire. A group of cyclists stopped for a breather as the Google Maps Street View Car drove past and the glitch left some bodiless feet walking about.

It’s real! Harry Potter fans, J.K. Rowling’s magical world is real! Or is it? Thanks to Google Maps, you can take a stroll down Diagon Alley via Google Street View.

The street is inside Warner Bros. Studio in London, England.

Creepiness overload, Mexico

I don’t know what’s going on here, but I’ve seen the movies Scream and Nightmare on Elm Street, so I know it’s nothing good. I must admit, the Google Street View cameraman is one dedicated individual to remain so calm.

Scores of other unusual images can be found on Google Street View, making it a great source of entertainment. Be sure you keep an eye out for some of the absurd images on Google Street View and see if you can recognise any of the people and addresses.

Have yourself a Freaky Friday and keep your eyes open for Google Street View updating its maps.
